Marching Band Festival

10/23/2019

Parents, need something to do this weekend with your family? Consider attending the District 11 Marching Band Festival at Manatee HS in Manatee County on Saturday, October 27th. Middle school band students receive FREE ENTRY with the letter below and a paid accompanying adult. Click here to view the band line up. The letter and schedule were passed out in class on Monday, October 22nd.

You might make a day out of it and check out the Hunsader's Pumpkin Festival while up there! Hunsader's opens at 10am. You could get your family pumpkin pictures, watch the circus, check out the monster truck, go on a hayride, walk through a corn maze, eat some great food, and THEN drive over to watch some marching bands. The famous Riverview HS Marching Kilties will close the festival. Your kids will LOVE it!

FAME Festival

10/6/2019

Friday, November 8th and Saturday, November 9th

For 14 years, FAME's efforts have supported our local band students at Englewood, Myakka and Vineland Elementary, L.A. Ainger Middle School, the Boca Grande Island School, Lemon Bay High School and more.

Since FAME has done and continues to do so much for our students and local band programs here in the Englewood area, let's all show our appreciation for their efforts by helping them make this year's music festival surpass all expectations by stopping in to enjoy some food, beverages and amazing music - including Saturday performances by LAAMS and LBHS Jazz Bands.

You can also donate silent auction items by completing this form and turning your donations into the front office at Ainger. Please turn in all Silent Auction Items by Friday, November 1st so we can get the items to FAME organizers.

If your child is in jazz band, we will be performing on Saturday, November 9th. Click here for details.

Yankee Candle Fundraiser for New Band Lockers!

10/6/2019

All Bands
Monday October 21st through Friday, November 1st

The Band Program is hosting our annual Yankee Candle fundraiser through Friday, Nov. 1st. If you would like to buy a candle, or another item in the catalog, you can either order from a band student or purchase directly online. Front office staff also has catalogs and order forms.

We are in need of new lockers for the large instruments like trombone, euphonium, horn, saxophones, and low reeds. The total cost is $12,100. We plan to replace the rusted and bent black lockers in the locker room. Our goal is $6000 as we have some funding already set aside.

Facts:
* 40% of each item goes toward the band.
* Items ordered from students (not online) will arrive before Christmas Break and after Thanksgiving Break.
* There is no sales tax on catalog orders as we are a non-profit organization and have filed our tax form with YC.
* This is the bands primary "stuff we sell" fundraiser all year.
* Candles make GREAT stocking stuffer's and gifts!
* You can also purchase candles online here. Simply use the code on the online selling instructions below (group code of 999993239). Please note that online sales include shipping and sales tax. This is how to sell to people outside of the area and support the band.

Prizes:
*$150 for top seller
*$100 for 2nd place
*$50 for 3rd place
*Winners are announced at the Winter Concert in December
